On White, Packshots, Catalogue and eCommerce

Whether you want to call them packshots, catalogue images, display shots, “white on white” or “Amazon” shots, we all know the all-white look of the classic and ever useful pictures like this. These are some examples - the fact is that any kind of item can be shot on a simple, perfectly white background and surrounding, from moisturizers to cars, baking soda and books to bicycles and beer. But, there’s a trick to it.

Making things look nice in a perfectly white surrounding takes some effort - some choose to use a “light tent” or “lightbox”, and while that might work to some extent for very small items, those things are basically a gimmick. There is little nuance, no scaling things up and very little actual control over how things look. Actual product shots like these need the same care and attention you give your “hero” shots.

Packshots are relatively easy to set up and execute with the right techniques, skill and equipment, but they are as essential to your eCommerce as the product, the store or the website you run as anything else - maybe more. See the difference with professional packshots - get in touch and let’s talk about your product shoot needs.
